I officially became an Aunt today. Welcome to my world baby Lilah Audrey Nellessen! Here are a few things I think you should know about:

No one yet knows if aliens really exist, except for those who are prejudice.

There is a word for the way it smells after it rains—it’s petrichor.

You’re going to mess up several times in life, but don’t worry, that’s the beauty of life, you can always start anew. Don’t ever live with regret.

Words, words, words and music too. Spend lots of time creating both.

Keep a secret love for something in life—you don’t have to hide it but you don’t have to reveal it either. It can be as simple as a swing.

Do not preoccupy yourself with the things you are not allowed to do until you are older. When you grow up you will long to partake in those which are allowed only to children.

Some day you will like all the colors.

Travel, Explore, Discover, Move, Dance, Be Free. The world is bigger then you’ll ever know. See all of it!

Bicycles are liberating and if you have the privilege take one wherever you go.

There is nothing wrong with loving trees.

Knowledge is power.

Don’t forget that there is a lot more out there than what we can comprehend. Life as you know it is just human perception. There is an entire natural order that you could never dream of to make an impression on. So respect all living things, even if you are scared.
